With Aloha Stadium suspending action on its field, do the 'Bows go to Maui? Or Ching Field on the Manoa Campus? Is Aloha Stadium really shutting down? We discuss whether the announcement could be a political power play.
We look at the most cost-effective things UH could do to make the most of hosting an on-campus contest. And how exciting a game at Ching Field could be.

We're just days away from Hawaii vs Houston in the New Mexico Bowl. With the Rainbow Warriors having departed HNL this morning, we too are making preparations here at Hawaii Sports Fans to bring you game coverage directly from Texas, where we will be credentialed media for the game on Christmas Eve...so be sure to follow along everyday!
We begin tonight with a focus on the CBS Sports report that Boise State is in talks with the AAC to join as a football-only member. Given recent reports that the Broncos were exploring option for their non-Football teams, it was thought that perhaps the team might be looking to go Independent. Dennis Dodd's article dropped just hours ago details conversations that have been on-going between BSU and American Athletic Conference officials for several months behind the backs of the Broncos' Mountain West peers.

The University of Hawai‘i football season took another surprising turn this past week when the team was extended an invitation to play the Houston Cougars - "the other UH" - in the New Mexico Bowl. At the same time, we are seeing more UH players enter the NCAA transfer portal. We discuss the numbers game that coaches will be playing in the offseason-- how can they bring in new recruits while holding spots for the Seniors who have been granted another year of eligibility?
Longtime Honolulu Star Advertiser writer Cindy Luis - whose ancestors came from the same tiny village in Madeira, Portugal as Wayne's great-grandfather, we learned! - talks Rainbow Warrior volleyball - who look forward to competing in 2021 - and Rainbow Wahine volleyball - who deal with bitter disappointment of a season cancelled. We look at the ramifications of only have some sports play versus others and the optics involved in a sticky situation for universities who juggle student-athlete safety while trying to maintain important revenue streams for their schools.

In the most 2020 thing of the crazy 2020 season, the Rainbow Warriors use a tie-breaker against Fresno State and San Diego State to secure the Mountain West conference's fourth bowl berth and will face the "other UH", the Houston Cougars, in the New Mexico Bowl.
The game won't be able in Albuquerque due to COVID measures and will be held in Frisco, TX, site of the FCS Championship game, the Toyota Stadium.
You'll hear from HSF's Wayne Coito, who gives his first impressions of the upcoming game and shares why SDSU may have shot themselves in the foot by scheduling an extra game.

Life can be hard for a college football program that finds itself outside the exclusive Power 5 club. For schools like BYU, Boise and Hawaii, the chance to be a full-fledged member of the Elite has rarely been made available; only Utah & TCU have made the jump nearly a decade ago.
It seems like all three schools have something playing against them: BYU's religious affiliation, Boise's academic reputation and Hawaii's minuscule television market are just some of the excuses we've heard.
But who of the three is in the best position right now?
When it was revealed recently that Boise St. coach Bryan Harsin had been urging his school to leave the Mountain West and that his AD at BSU had inquired with the West Coast and Big West conferences - two non-football conferences - the rumor mill fired up again. But where would the Broncos go for football?
BYU went Independent in 2011, sending their non-football sports to the WCC and yet saw their rival Utes springboard way past them when it was Utah that received the PAC12 invite.
Indy might not be the best place for football, but is BYU the best-positioned mid major? How would Boise fare as an Independent? Is it better to be in a conference?
We discuss the infusion of billions of dollars into college football and how TV rights - illuminated by a Supreme Court decision in 1984 that challenged the NCAA monopoly - have changed the way we look at amateur sports and have blown up a crater of divide between the haves and the have-nots.

University of Hawaii falls to 3-4 on the season, with one final game against UNLV at home looming. The Spartans lived up to the hype, taking home the Dick Tomey Memorial trophy.

After suffering a gruesome injury in 2018 that threatened even amputation, the one that some are calling the greatest to ever play for the Black Knights has decided to move on from the program that has showered him with some unbelievable love, reppin the #10HANA, a marvel even for local people witnessing from back home in the Islands.
