The Wayne Coito Show - In Memory of Mauricio "Mo" Fascio
Wednesday Mar 24, 2021
Wednesday Mar 24, 2021
This show is dedicated to life of Mauricio "Mo" Fascio who parted from us this past Saturday morning.
Mo succumbed to the virus that has changed our lives forever. A frontline worker who affected change in the community, Mo is a reminder of how fortunate we are to get a vaccine when your opportunity comes. Sadly, he never got the chance.
Mo was one-of-a-kind, a mega sportsfan but also the most genuine and caring individual you could ever know.
We honor him tonight.
We look ahead to Fall and the being in the stands for games as LA begins to open up to fans starting next month.
Also....it's Wayne himself who leads the Hawaii Sports Fans March Madness Challenge. He talks the strategies and percentages he played to keep himself at the top - so far - of the 25-person tournament, including picking First Four #11 UCLA to make it into the Sweet 16. Wayne has his entire Final Four still in-play as well, but we'll see how it goes after this weekend....

Hawaii News Now's Ian Scheuring joins to talk UH Football-- its issues with the Stadium Authority & a potential new facility, why the Pay Per View deal negatively affects the program, and why he sees the on-campus stadium as potentially the best solution for the Rainbow Warriors long-term.
And speaking of Hawaii Football, we'll finally announce our first tour of the season---to the Rose Bowl against UCLA! But that's not all, we've added - not one - but two Major League Baseball games into the mix AND an NFL game at SoFi Stadium, where fans will finally be let in.

Dr. Josh Albrektson, die-hard LA sports fan and multiple season ticket holder, was amongst the 7,500 healthcare workers invited to Super Bowl LV because of their work on the frontlines.
He talks about why the vaccine - what he calls one of the best vaccines ever created - is important to getting fans back in the stands, and why he believes receiving the vaccine will be a requirement, at least in California, for entry into sporting events.
He also shares some optimism as to when we can expect to see fans back in the fans in the Golden State, a state that Hawaii mirrors a lot with its policies--- it may be sooner than you think!

Wayne also talks about his trip to the University of Central Florida to explore the campus, the "Bounce House" - the Black Knights on-campus football stadium, and to figure out why this school nearly 5,000 miles away has been able to attract some of the best talent out of Hawaii. Wayne gives his impressions on the UCF program and just why they might not be going away for a while and why they are just getting started recruiting the 808 state.
